SIRUI A200B Inflatable Light Review. I have some concerns...
I played with it with the Sirui 16mm Cine lens. I found out you can get rid of the crop using Zoom in photo mode! I can now take photos without the vignette!
You can also put it in 6k open gate, turn on high E stabilization, and get rid of the crop 😉
@@DustinArmstrongPro for video indeed! But now i dont even need to switch to a lens for photos lol specifically! Haha. One thing that i am sad about is proxy settings :( so i guess i have to render proxies in post like its 2018 :(
Man, Im over here thinking my switch will be Nikon or Sony, completely disregarding Panasonic (probably peer pressure). May be worth trying a Panasonic.
Definitely worth considering especially for video. I got a feeling they got something cooking up soon.....
I am on my way to assembling my rig as well and thanks for your input man. Good luck with your project.
That’s awesome. Please lumix make a nature photography lens
Hello, thanks for the review! I have been waiting for that lens since I bought my S5IIX last year. I rented the lens today and it looks fantastic. My only issue is that there is no "touch MF" focus in AF mode or am I missing something?
There should be a touch to focus but you may have to enable it on the camera
thanks peakdesign
please make a color accurate one , thats awesome
so picture quality or sensor wise is the same thing?
I'd put it in my mouth.
That knockoff.
What
I wanna get the Canon R50, does the V2 work well on that one?
How do you find these lenses compared to the Duelens?
Cleaner more clinical look where the Dulens are more creative have more character. Both sharp, just different.
Exciting lens option for the L mount! Excited to give this a try!
Excited for more Samyang lenses for L mount
hy dustin. i wanna thank you for your work, helps alot entire community. what lens is the 75mm t1.2, is the lens around 1:25 min. its sirui nigthwalk? they made for L-mount? thx for everything
Yes sirui night walker in L mount
@@DustinArmstrongPro bro' but where you find this lens cuz i cant find in europe
Thank you Dustin!!! At last, a RUclipsr that has the technical knowledge required to correctly use Arri's Log C3 colour profile. You've earned a sub!
🙏 thanks for watching
But is it good enough to see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch?
Let's see👀
Still on my Zhiyun Weebill 2. Surprising that it's strong enough to handle my 150mm Sirui "Venus" 1.6x anamorphic lens. Probably at the very limits, but it's still a contender before upgrading to a much stronger gimbal.
I love gimbals with strong weight capacities but notice I rarely use the weight capacity lol
I like the look at f2. Is it more a dreamy look at f2 and becomes more sharp. That’s two personalities in one. Reminds me of the voigkander 40 1.2 manual focus for Nikon z mount. ❤
they couldnt have started at 24mm? or better yet, 20mm?
With the 1.5x crop on the lumix s5ii(x) this basically becomes a 50 - 225mm as well 👀
Didnt think about that !!!
Adequate analysis, thank you.
I use it for video on S52X and S1H and its really a beautiful lens with huge image quality. Soft and precise, I love it ! AF works very well. For MF the softness of the focus ring is a perfection. Like on the Canon L lens. Byebye the 24/105 😅
Just sold my S1 and S1R and got the Nikon Z8 with the Tamaron 35-150. Great lens and super sharp! Wonder if Tamaron makes it for Samyang? So similar except the Samyang price is much cheaper. BTW, you can program those buttons on the lens with the USB-C cable connected to the computer with software as well as update firmware. I probably would've considered buying this Samyang if I still had my Lumix, but with no new S1Rii or S1ii after 5 1/2 years, it was time to move on. Glad to see a new fast lens for the L mount.
Word ! Question, is there a dock or anything this lens needs to update the firmware ? Or can you just USB-C right into it, connect to the computer, and run the software update ?
@@TopshelfJuniorit the video, it looks like it has a USB-C port, so if it's like the Tamaron, you should be able to update firmware and program the buttons with the software that Samyang should provide. Sigma requires a costly dock.
@@TopshelfJunior There is no USB port on this Samyang 35-150mm lens.
Really ?! That's interesting.
Great video man! Cheers from Bali
🙏🙏
I wonder if they will offer the ARRI LogC3 in an upgrade for the GH5s?
Looks like a great lens. Also, holy diffusion filter usage hahah.
I like to mess around what can I say
@@DustinArmstrongPro ain’t no shame in the pro mist filter game 👏
no thoughts on how it works for stills? everyone are videographers nowadays, gosh
I commented on stills in the video. I even put some photo examples. There's currently an issue it seems when you take photos really fast (watch the video and I've had a couple others with the lens tell me they have the same problem) so it does work for photos, but definitely wouldn't do anything with fast moving subject where you take a lot of photos
Thank you so much for making this review of the L mount version. I am very seriously considering this lens, but I am using an older Panasonic S body so the manual focus experience is very important to me. Does this lens support the linear focus mode setting in the menu, or changing the manual focus throw?
I forgot to mention this in the video actually. It does support linear, but there's only a couple of options for the degree of focus throw. The focus wheel also has ridges in it that's suppose to work with a motor. I haven't tried it, but yeah I think it'll be good for MF
@@DustinArmstrongPro Thank you for answering my question! I'm glad to hear that there are some manual focus control options.
I had the lens when I was still on the Sony email system. Definitely a very versatile lens however I was not happy with the build quality. Now on Elm, I ended up going with Sigma 70 to 228 to 70 combo so this lens is kinda useless. I am surprised, however you did not mention that the Sam Yang is parfocal.
I'm not sure it's technically parfocal, but it may imitate through the software that it is. I could be wrong though and they really did make it parfocal
I know Rokinon is made in the same house as Samyang but Is anything different optically? Both offered in the store.
Thanks a lot! It was very helpfull.
No problem!
Dustin i have a question...not actually a question but i want to know, does the only usb c on s5iix support usb c splitter for both data transfer via usb c ssd and same time charging, Actually i am building a small rig with s5iix and i wanna keep simple things as simple as possible, i dont wana use dtab with a dummy battery...... Usb c port for data recording to ssd and power to the camera via small rig v mount battery v50 , and use the power for moniter directly on to the v mount battery.
If you're asking can you use an SSD and record at the same time over USB-C, I'm pretty sure the answer is no. But you can record over HDMI and use the USB-C port. You'd need to use a dummy battery
@@DustinArmstrongPro no, what i meant to say....can i use the same usb c to power and record to ssd using a single usb c to dual usb c gen 3 .
I ordered one and quickly returned it due to the entire left side of the frame always being out of focus. Definitely a defective lens. Customer service wasn't very helpful either. I told them I would like to exchange or have the lens repaired and the only option they gave me was to return it and rebuy another one. That's okay except it means I couldn't rebuy until the refund was issued and by the time it was, the lens was no longer available for the sale price I originally ordered at. I'm not playing a game of lens gambling and being made to buy again at a higher price because they sent out a bad copy the first time. Overall, a complete waste of my time and shipping costs. By the way, if your package gets lost in the mail on it's way to you, and you never opted to buy their own shipping insurance and tracking they offer on the site, you're out of luck. Buyer beware.
So its just a rebranded Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8 LOL, they did not even bother changing the body of it.
No, it's a rebuilt, not identical. You can find several videos on this topic.
It's made in Korea, not China. And there is no USB port on Samayng.
What difference does it make if its made in Korea? Absolutely nothing, you think Korea has a higher build quality than China? LOL
@@SMGJohn LOL the difference is that your money goes to communist idiots.
UPDATE: I bought this lens for lumix s5iix, I gotta say it was the best purchase for my camera so far its a dream. I have the sigma 28-70 and though i love the size of that lens it just doesnt have the reach I want also I will add the samyang goes down to 2 stops which is greatly appreciated. Now that I have 7 or 8 k in L mount lenses and seeing im not a professional videographer I really hope panny releases a high megapixel beast for people that love to photograph as well as shoot video, Maybe the S1H mark ii? oh come on panny please keep us up to date with the new canon r5ii coming out. 1400 for L mount 1199for sony mount. Bums me out. 200$ price difference ? really ? I mean why. i thought it was more at first . still 200 is alot of money
The sony has been out longer. Originally it was 1400 I believe so they likely just have more on the shelf they're trying to sell
The Tamaron 35-150 2.0-2.8 Nikon is $1,999
The license price has to be regained. Or they think there are less buyers than for the E.
Nice review, I also am thinking about buying one with my own money.
It's pretty nice! 70-200mm I rarely use so this is a good middle ground
But does pineapple go on pizza??
Helllllll no
In Germany it's one of the most preferred pizza.
Hi, may I know does the zoom creep matter to you? I'm a user of Peak Design capture clip and I worry that it might be a need to constantly 'lock' the lens whenever I put it on my PD capture clip.
Not an issue really for me. I probably wouldn't put this on a peak clip just cause it's such a big lens. Usually only do that with smaller setups
As soon as i will have a real „Need“ for a Tele i would definetely buy this. Amazing to finally see this on L-Mount. Now i Hope Samyang will bring us some compact primes for the S9.
I Love This lens! But mine has a little bit of play in the mount, when you zooming out you can feel the mount moving a little bit and the zoom ring feel weird! I have the same error en foto mode😢 ! I wanna Love This lens!
Ah good to know I'm not the only one! I'm surprised my mount seems really solid. I wonder if it's just a quality control thing when it comes to Samyang. I have heard inconsistencies.
Gimme a z mount
Had this lens on Sony and enjoyed it but the size meant it wasn’t coming anywhere that wasn’t a paid event. The amount of passers by commenting on the size of the lens was always funny to me since nobody ever comments on my big white 70-200
Size matters to the uninformed, as ridicules as it is, people are more willing to take you serious if the gear looks serious, what a world we live in. I put the battery grip on every time because I am so tired arguing with clients when they want a reduced price because the gear was not big enough LOL
I can't believe this lens is now a reality. We've been needing Samyang to step into the L mount game for a while now. 🎉
Game changing👀
@@DustinArmstrongProHoping they would release more primes too 🙏
Nice kit. Very expensive lens for no OIS. Will keep my 24-70 and 70-200.
I mean for the range and f stop though I think it's justified in my opinion
3:12 - FYI: If you assign the [Focus Mode] to the Panasonic DMW-RS2 Remote, it behaves in the same way as assigning to the lens button. Sony goes one step further and replicates this behaviour on any assigned function button and they give you this behaviour WHILE recording. With Lumix, you must stop recording before switching modes which is annoying.
Interesting! I'm going to have to play around with that. Thanks for the tip
Thank you I’ve been waiting weeks for a review of this lens on LUMIX cameras😅
No problem glad I can help!
I only wish it had lens stabilization (I am assuming it doesn't since you didn't mention it). By the way, Dustin, it would be great if you could give a shout out to the festival and the name of the band(s) that appear in your video. I am sure they would be delighted if you shared some youtube love with them.
It does not. Ha the festival doesn't need it but I'll put a link to the band in my description. They don't do original music but they sound great!
Do you still need the USB dock to update the firmware since it's a native lens?
Not sure to be honest
If it's like the Tamaron, you update the firmware with a USB-C cable connected to your computer and download the program to update it. No dock required. The buttons can be programmed with the same program too.
@@keithspurlock4732 There is no USB port on the Samyang 35-150 lens. And I haven't seen any Samyang dock for L-mount yet on the market.
Did you see the compatibility error message come up again since filming this review?
I have not
Did they fix the issue with the lens barrel creeping? When I've seen examples of this on the Sony version it seemed like it would make shooting with it difficult due to the zoom creep happening while trying to get a shot.
Not sure I've noticed that so far
